Where To Find Japanese Drugstore Goods in NYC: Sunrise Mart

Sunrise Mart is my go-to place for Japanese drugstore and grocery needs in the city. It's no where near the size of Mitsuwa but it's convenient and saves me a trip to New Jersey. I apologize in advance for the not so great pictures, they were snapped in a hurry since I wasn't sure if they allowed photography.

This is the East Village location, there's also a SoHo location but it's much smaller. The mart is located on the second floor of the building, above a book shop.

Where
Sunrise Mart East Village Location
4 Stuyvesant St (By 3rd Ave and right around the corner from St.Marks/8th St.)
New York, 10003
T:(212) 598-3040

The beauty and hair products section right by the cash register. They have some color cosmetics and tools but don't expect the prices to be lower than what you'd see online.

hair dye!

They do carry a small selection of DHC products

The ever so popular Tsubaki shampoo/conditioner

Snacks!

This is not at Sunrise. There's a yakitori place around the corner that I frequent...

Yakitori Taisho
5 St. Marks Pl
New York, NY 10003
T: (212) 228-5086

If this location is too crowded there's another 2 doors down

Oh! Taisho
9 St. Marks Pl
New York, NY 10003

There are more shops like this around the city, I'll do more posts when I actually take pictures on my future visits :)

Happy shopping and eating!

XOXO, M

  7. I've been there a couple of times, but I think it's just too small and it's crowded in some occasion.

I notice if you go to Kam Man Food Product in Chinatown (Manhattan) in 2nd floor there's bunch of Japanese hair, facial supplies, make-ups and other cute Hello Kitty goodies too.

    Here's the info:

    Kam Man Food Products, Inc
    200 Canal St., New York, NY 10013 40.717049 -73.998633
    at Mulberry St

Thanks for the info though. I miss going to st. marks place a lot of yummy food there.
