Garnier Nutrisse #63 Light Golden Brown Hair Dye

I wanted to lighten my hair color for the spring months and was too lazy to go to the salon. I figure I'd try my luck with a box of hair dye and see where it takes me...


Garnier Nutrisse #63 Light Golden Brown, is it just me or does the shade on the box looks more like a reddish brown than a light golden brown? The kit includes the dye mix, small packet of nourishing conditioner, gloves, and instructional guide. I had to use 2 boxes to cover all my hair.


My hair was in a shade of dark warm brown, in the sun there was a slight reddish tone to it and in the dark it appeared black.


I left the dye in for 45 minutes, had my fingers crossed that it won't turn out reddish or brassy, and to my pleasant surprise my prayers were answered. It ended up looking ashy brown, a shade that I'm really fond of. It's no where near as light as the color on the box but that was expected. I lucked out with this color and will be picking it up again

I've used Garnier's Nutrisse line before for coloring, it's not too drying and the scent isn't overwhelming. The dye isn't as potent on dark hair, meaning you'll have to leave it in longer for the colors to show. Overall, I like the range and would repurchase.
