By now you've all probably read about or seen the devastating 7.0 magnitude quake that struck Haiti two days ago. Haiti is one of the poorest nations in the world and is in desperate need of your help. I know that times are tough but every little bit helps.
Unfortunately, scams and fake charities exist even at times like these. Be cautious and donate to something safe like The American Red Cross. Lifehacker has a list posted their site on what's safe and what to watch out for. I ended up giving via the American Red Cross online donation portal. Here are some other options;
- UNICEF
- UN Foudantion
- YELE Haiti (Wyclef Jean)
- Stillerstrong (Ben Stiller)
XOXO, M
Oh good for you! I've been thinking about making a post like this. I donated my January "allowance" two nights ago. It's not much at all, but those poor people there need it way more than I do.
ReplyDeleteI love that you posted this on your blog! You are such a role model. I gave to YELE Haiti and I really hope that everyone could give whatever little they can afford. <3
