VOV Castledew Diacut Platina Shinism Eyeshadow Palette Review, Swatches

VOV is a affordable drugstore cosmetics brand from Korea with very attractive and girly packaging. I've been eyeing their Diacut Castledew palettes for some time now and finally ordered the newest palette from Gmarket.



About: This is the VOV Castledew Diacut M 601 Eyeshadow palette entitled "Platina Shinism", it comes with 6 shades and large mirror.

Price: This palette is around $12-$15 on Gmarket, about $20 if you factor in the shipping cost. I've heard that they're priced even lower in Korea.

Thoughts: The shades in this palette are wearable and very shimmery. The most pigmented colors are the purple on the top left corner and the brown on the bottom right. The least pigmented is the light pink peach tone in the middle right. The rest of the shades are all light shimmery neutrals. The colors are not unique but the texture is very smooth for a drugstore brand and blends well. Its not a must have for myself, there are too many similar looking neutrals in one palette.You may be into it if you like cute packaging and shimmer. See colors and swatches up close below.

  2. ha thats really funny that you posted this today because i asked another youtube guru what this really pretty nail polish she was wearing was and she said castledew..she also made this haul video and she said their products are a cheaper version of Jill Stuart.I might try a pallet or two and some nail polishes and lipstick. but still i'd rather have jill stuart! oh and thank you for the link.

  5. I would probably buy it for the packaging :P
    But I would want one with other colors...have too many neutral palettes already.
    Wonder if there's any where to get it cheaper...

  6. i have seen this palette on another blog. i thought the design was interesting but the colours too sheer as usual. i had seen this brand just once here. and it wasn't very impressive. maybe the new stuff are much better. i would love to play with this in person to see how i like it.

  7. Hm, the packaging is adorable and it actually looks like quite a pretty neutral everyday palette but I think I already have enough neutrals for now lol. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Thanks for the reviews! By and large, I do like the Castledew palettes, but they are shimmery with less than average colour payoff, which is a problem with neutrals, as you've pointed out.

  13. The middle four neutral colours are almost indistinguishable from each other and your skin... except that they are really sparkly! I haven't even tried to look at the makeup section on Gmarket and it's going to stay that way for a while, hopefully :P
