I've been on a hunt for a decent face exfoliator!
SABON Face Polisher
$29 for 6.8oz, comes in a glass container (I think the packaging is pretty)
This is a light to medium exfoliator. It has a cream like texture with tiny exfoliants (feels like fine sand mixed with cream) and a light minty scent (contains mint oil). It leaves your skin feeling smooth and moisturized afterwards, a pleasant surprise for me since I didn't expect it. I really like this and recommend it! buy on Sabon's site.
IOPE Soft Peeling Gel
I believe this peeling gel is in the $25-$30 range (I lost the receipt) for 3.4 oz
The IOPE peel is found at the Amore Store (same place where you get laneige). For those of you who likes the Laneige Strawberry peel, you'll like this even more! It works very similar, spread it against your skin and as the gel dries up it peels off and exfoliates. Only it works much better at the peeling stage. Its very gentle and good for sensitive skin. It says "moisture skin" on the tube but my skin didn't moisturized, just clean. This is a good peeling gel but I need something a bit stronger.
Dr.Brandt Microdermabrasion
image from sephora, $75 for 1.7oz, the grand daddy of exfoliators
If you're looking for a strong exfoliator, this is it. Got supder duper sensitive skin? this is probably not for you. A creamy texture with pharmaceutical grade crystals (extra fine) and smells like italian lemon ice. I like this a lot! and if it wasn't so expensive I wouldn't cringe every time I use it. It does leave my face feeling clean, smooth, and polished.
Sometimes after I exfoliate I followup with some extraction...
I use this stainless steel double ended one from Sephora. It'll last you a long time! I've had this over for over 5 years now.
I'm still not done with hotel bookings! aghhhhh
AWE! I likeee IOPE stuff! And the consistency of peeling gel looks pretty amazing!
ReplyDeleteGreat products!
Great products! I've also been on the look out for exfoliators as well! I'm glad I get to review products which are different from yours!!
ReplyDeletehow exactly do you use the extraction thing? i have one too but i don't know if i'm doing it wrong or something...cuz it hurts a lot!!
ReplyDeleteThose exfoliators look amazing! And yeah, the packaging for Sabon's face polisher is really pretty =D
ReplyDeleteAhhh, extractions are a must to me, I do it weekly.

ReplyDeleteI've asked my thai friend abt your hotel,it's not in the central part but shouldn't be hard to find transport,n taxi is super cheap in thai :D

ReplyDeleteDr.Brandt's Microdermabrasion seems so appealing!!
ReplyDeleteI use an Extractor too, but find using a serum to remove comedones causes less irritation.
thanks for sharing
ReplyDeletei have pretty much given up on peeling or exfoliators for my white heads..i went and got them removed at the dermatologist
Ooooh, that jar is really pretty looking! Hm, I like the look of that IOPE peel. Good luck with the travel plans!
ReplyDeletethe extration tool is soo owieee!!! *sigh* but no pain no gain right? so i gotta use it more often.
ReplyDeletehehe the grand daddy of exfoliators...wow at the price tag
Wow that is one expensive exfoliator cream! But if it works wonder then it's all good. hehe. I have that double ended stainless steel, too but I got it from Bodyshop. Hehe. A little ouchy to use, hahaha.
ReplyDeleteLong live Dr. Brandt!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reviews, M! The IOPE one sounds nice. I don't even have a proper exfoliator, but I guess my retinoid is sorta like one to me. When I do run out of the retinoid, I'll look into the IOPE one for temporary use (prescirption retinoids so expensive! gulp) I hope you're doing well :)
ReplyDeleteall of them are cool new stuffs I haven't seen around, but interesting!!!
ReplyDeletesabon makes awesome stuff! I use an extractor too but I'm looking for the other one that looks like a melon scooper on one end, have you tried that one?
ReplyDeleteOooh, nice stuff. The sabon face polisher's packaging is so cute n__n. And damn.. those extraction things.. I've always wondered about them but don't know how to use em XD
ReplyDeleteI have been in search of a great exfoliator too!
ReplyDeleteI ordered Dr. Brandt's last week! I am so happy you made this post because now I feel like I didn't waste my money!!!
The Sabon jar does look really pretty :) damn you Dr. Brandt and your expensive but effective products! I'm a little wary of those superfine crystals though, sometimes my skin is sensitive for certain products =T I think I'll just attempt to use up the Laneige scrub in the meantime to save $$, haha...maybe you'll find a good equivalent to the Dr. Brandt during your trip!
ReplyDeleteoh, I just know that IOPE is a pretty high end brand in Korea. haha xD
ReplyDeletebut exfoliators are really good and itch my heart :P
so many scrubs!!
ReplyDeleteive tried an extractor before, didnt work on me :(
I've tried that sephora extractor, I didn't think it was very good...the metal loop is too fat and wide =/ I will definitely look into the dr brandt exfoliator
ReplyDeleteHee hee, I sometimes extract after scrubbing too. Makes it so much easier!
ReplyDeleteOh wow...I've never seen this extraction thingy!*laugh*
ReplyDeleteWhat do you do with it?

I have that Iope Peeling Gel! What's the correct way to use it? On dry skin or wet skin? And how long do you massage it in? Do you let it dry then massage it for the feeling effect? LOL sorry for the 20 questions. I just got so excited when I saw this post.
ReplyDeleteI did try to follow the directions but I don't think I'm achieving the right results with it. =/
