Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain Review, Photos, FOTD

Recent pit stop at the drugstore to kill time before dinner resulted in a mini haul. I picked up the new Revlon Just Bitten lipstain amongst other things. The packaging is cute and there was a $1 off coupon at CVS.

You've been bitten! Ok, I got the face wrong. I forgot that the theme was bitten, not smooch'n.

Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain in Passion ($8.99) comes with lipstain on one end and lip balm on the other.

It has a marker tip applicator

The small balm on the other side. No scent, no flavor, no additional color, simply just balm. The balm is handy, the Revlon site recommends that you use the balm after applying the stain.

It looks like just a hint of color up close but is actually pretty bright from afar. The shade combined with the fact that it's a stain gives off the impression that your lips are naturally flushed.

I did a simple neutral look to go with the lips:

Verdict:
I have mixed feelings about this one. I like the natural appearance and the Passion shade is appealing. I also like how long lasting it is, it doesn't budge or rub off, not even after eating and drinking. It lasted for 6-8 hours with minimal fading. On the other hand, the uneven application bothers me. It's hard to remove, even with makeup remover. I also feel like the marker tip dries out too quickly (could be just mine).

Pros:
♥ Very long lasting
♥ Natural looking

Cons:
♦ hard to get achieve a even application
♦ hard to remove

Quick Tip:
Make sure that your lips are NOT chapped before application, otherwise it'll turn out blotchy and not so attractive. If you have chapped lips prep it by gently exfoliating to remove the dead skin then follow up with some lip balm and wait until your lips are soft/smooth. Blot your lips then apply.

Atelle Beauty Fresh Homemade Scrub Review

Alicia of Atelle Beauty whips up fresh home made skincare products. I love the idea of home made products as you know exactly what the ingredients are and they normally don't involve chemical compounds you can't pronounce.

Alicia is super sweet and helpful. I told her about my skin type (combination) and concerns and she picked out something that was suitable for me. The Belle, a facial and body scrub good for combination to oily/acne prone skin. It's $15 for 8oz and comes packaged in a cute glass jar with its own wooden scooper.

The grainy bits consist of sea salt and rice which are soaked in oil, similar to that of Sabon scrubs only with less oil. It's not scented per se, just the smell of the natural ingredients.

The scrub is good for both the face though I prefer to use it on my body. The exfoliants are a bit harsh for my face but it's prefectly fine for the body. It removes dead skin and leaves your skin feeling soft and well moisturized. My skin always looks and feels smooth after using it. I use it up to three times a week and that's enough to keep your skin feeling amazing throughout the week.

Do check out Atelle Beauty for more of their natural products. Get in touch with Alicia if you're unsure of which product to use for your skin type. Note that Alicia does recommends refrigerating these products when not in use since it's made of completely natural ingredients.

Forever 21 False Lash Falsies Review, FOTD, Video

I can't say that Forever 21 lashes piqued my interest from the start. They looked a little flimsy, stiff, and downright outrageous at times. But then I found #12 (Bold Bombshell), a pair of batty lashes for only $2.80. It was surprisingly comfortable to have on and looks great. I wore them to a early evening engagement party and they were perfect for the occasion.

The lashes are long but not too out there. They're like extension accents to your regular lashes.

Verdict?
For $2.80 these are decent affordable lashes. You can't rewear them much, the lashes started falling off the band after my second use. The band itself, while comfortable, has problems maintaining a curve. It took me a few tries to get it on just right. Otherwise, they're very pretty lashes and are not uncomfortable. You can buy it online at the Forever 21 site here, or try looking it for it at one of their retail locations.

Here's my face of the day that accompanied the lashes...

Here's the video format. I have the lashes on in the video as well.
